Our Statement Of Faith
1. The Scriptures
We believe that the 66 books contained within the Old and New Testaments, comprise the entire body of God’s revelation to man, closing out the Cannon of Scripture. We believe that the Holy Spirit inspired every verbal word in the original documents through holy men of old, fully under His control, making those words to be God breathed, without error and fully trustworthy. We believe that only in the Scriptures has God revealed his will for the salvation of fallen man, and therefore, His word is the sole standard by which all men shall be judged. (Deuteronomy 4:2, 2 Peter 1:19-21, 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Psalm 119:160)
2. God
We believe that there is one God who is infinitely good, perfect, holy, merciful and eternally self existent, needing nothing and no one, and is far beyond the finite mind to fully comprehend. We believe that God is sovereign, doing His good pleasure, and therefore, is in full control of all things at all times. We further believe that this one God is the creator of all things above, within and under the earth, being omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. We believe that this one God manifests Himself in a perfect unity of three distinct Personages revealed in Scripture as: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, yet they share in the same nature. (Deuteronomy 6:4, 1 Timothy 2:5; Psalm 18:30, Matthew 5:48; Isaiah 6:3, 1 Peter 1:15; Exodus 3:14, Acts 17:24, 25; Psalm 50 ;12; Romans 9:20, Psalm 115:3, Romans 11:33, Proverbs 19:21; Colossians 1:16; Hebrews 4:13; Genesis 1:1, John 1:1-3; Jeremiah 32:27, Luke 1:37; Jeremiah 23:24, Psalm 139:7-10; Psalm 90:2, Revelation 22:13; Isaiah 40:28, Revelation 1:8; Matthew 3:16 ,17, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 Peter 1:1, 2, 1John 5:7)
3. Creation
We hold firm to the creation record in Genesis, which reveals that God created all things by Himself and therefore, we reject any and all other creation processes. We further believe that the entire creation account, took place in six literal, twenty-four-hour days. We believe that the creation account reveals the creation and union, of one man and one woman, which defines a marriage. Therefore, any other sexual unions, other than that which is put forth in the Genesis creation account, are abominable in the sight of an all holy God. We further state that God made two distinct, yet complementary sexes that together reflect the image and likeness of God. Therefore, to reject one’s biological sex, is a rejection of God’s design, creative order and Sovereignty. (Genesis 1:26-27;1 Corinthians 6:9; Deuteronomy 22:5(Genesis 1:1–2:3, Colossians 1:16,17; Exodus 20:11; 31:17; Genesis 1:26–28; 2:5–25; Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5; cf. Malachi 2:14; Exodus 20:14; Leviticus 18:1–30; Matthew 5:27–32; 19:1–9; 1 Corinthians 5:1–5; 6:9–10; 1 Thessalonians 4:1–7).
4. The State of Man
We believe that man was created perfect, in the image and likeness of God, yet created with the ability to choose to sin against God. We believe that Adam chose to sin, placing him and his descendants in alienation to God and under the curse of spiritual and physical death. As his descendants, all men are sinners by nature, by choice and sinners by the declaration of God’s word. We believe that all men are hopelessly lost and completely unable to help themselves, apart from faith in Christ’s redemptive work. (Genesis 2:7, Genesis 1:26-28; 3:6, 7; Romans 5:12; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:19, Colossians 1:20,22, Romans 5:10)
5. The Father
We believe that the Father, the first member of the Trinity, being omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient and pure love, has purposed from eternity past to redeem a people for Himself. The Father is Spirit and yet is personally knowable through His Son. He has revealed Himself through His Word, through nature, through the conscience of man, through the prophets, and through His Son Jesus. It is the Father who has purposed all events in history according to His eternal will and plan, and being sovereign, just and wholly good, He will call all men into accountability before His appointed judge, the Lord Jesus Christ. Being the essence of Holiness, the Father neither authors or ever approves of sin. (Matthew 6:9; Ephesians 1:19-20; Psalm 139:7-10; 1 John 4:8; 1 John 3:20; Ephesians 1:4-5; John 4:23; John 14:6; I Chron. 29:11; Psa. 103:19, 145:8-9, John 4:24; Rom. 1:2; 2:15; Eph. 1:11-12; Psalm 103:19; Daniel 5:21; John 8:38, 47; 1 Peter 1:17; Psalm 139: 1-16; 1 Corinthians 8:6; John 5:17
6. The Son Of God
We believe that Jesus Christ is the promised Messiah of Israel, the eternal Son of God, and as such, He is fully God and fully man. We further believe that His birth was miraculous in nature without human male involvement as is the normal fashion, but solely a Sovereign work of the Holy Spirit, making Him God incarnate. We believe that He lived a sinless life, was crucified on a cross becoming our substitute, arose bodily from the dead, ascended bodily into Heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God the Father as our sole Advocate and High Priest. We believe that by Jesus, all things were created and are held together and that His death and resurrection are the only grounds for our salvation. (John 1:41; Colossians 1:13-16, Hebrews 1:2; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-18, John 20:28; Luke 3:21, 22, John 19:34; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 7:14; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 3:8, Hebrews 9:28; Mark 15:15-32; Luke 24:39; Acts 1:9, 10; Hebrews 1:3; 1 Corinthians 15:3-6; 1 John 2:1; Hebrews 8:1; John 1:3, Colossians 1:17; 1 Peter 3:18)
7. The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit, is the third person of the Godhead, and as such, is fully God. We believe in His present ministry of convicting men of sin, righteousness, and judgement, baptizing those who believe, into the Body of Christ, sealing them to the day of redemption, teaching, guiding, equiping and empowering them to live a godly life in this present evil age. We believe that the Holy Spirit will never boast of Himself, but that in all He does, He glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 John 5:7; Acts 5:1-5; John 16:7-11; Ephesians 4:30; John 16:13; 2 Thessalonians 2:13, Romans 15:16, Romans 8:13; 1 Corinthians 6:11; Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 12:13; John 14:16; John 16:13; Ephesians 1:13)
8. Salvation
We believe that the finished work of Jesus, is the sole grounds for the salvation of the whole world, and that only in Him is salvation to be found. Being alienated from God by our sin, the shed blood of Christ, has reconciled all believers to God, granting us peace with Him. We believe that salvation is gifted to man and accessed solely by grace through faith, without any meritorious works on our part whatsoever. We further believe that true repentance in salvation, springs forth from the gift of Grace and is not generated in any way from ourselves, for at its source is God. We hold that the believer, to whom Christ gives life, shall never perish, being kept by the power of God. (John 19:30; 1 John 2:1,2; Acts 4:12; Colossians 1:21-22; Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 2:4: John 10:28,29; 1 Peter 1:5)
9. The Church
We believe that the Church, is the corporate body of Christ, into which all believers are united by the Holy Spirit, with Christ as the Head. The church is found in the local assembly of believers, being governed by leadership that meets the requirements found in the Scriptures. We believe that the church is to continue the two ordinances that Jesus mandated, being Water Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. (1 Corinthians 12:27; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Colossians l:18; 1 Corinthians 1:2; 1 Timothy 3:1-16, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Timothy 2:12-14; Matthew 28:19,1 Corinthians 11:23-27)
10. The Rapture
We believe that at the Rapture is the blessed hope of all believers who will meet the Lord in the air, where Christ will receive His Church unto Himself. We believe that the moment the Rapture takes place, is known only to God. We believe Christ’s return at the Rapture, will be personal, bodily and before Daniel’s 70th week, which comprises the Wrath of God to which believers are not appointed. (1 Thessalonians 4:17; 2 Thessalonians 2:1; Matthew 24:36,42; 1 Corinthians 15:51-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; 1 Thessalonians 5:9; Acts 1:9-11; Titus 2:11-13; 2 Peter 3:11; 1 John 3:1-3; 1 Peter 1:22).
11. Christ’s Second Coming
We believe when Christ returns to Earth, He will return with His church in glory, destroy the Antichrist and establish His millennial kingdom, where He will reign for 1,000 years. (Colossians 3:4; Revelation 19:11-16, Revelation 20:1-6, Zechariah 14:4-11)
12. Eternal Destiny
We believe that upon death, the soul of the believer is separated from the body and forever enters into the presence of the Lord, awaiting the resurrection of eternal life. The dead in Christ, having already been eternally judged upon receiving Christ, will be judged at the judgment seat of Christ. At death the soul of the unbeliever is also separated from the body. The soul enters the torments of Hell, while the body corrupts awaiting the resurrection of damnation. Regardless of how the unbeliever died, we believe that God will raise the dead bodily, at the second resurrection, to give an account before the Great White Throne. The unbeliever will be found guilty of rejecting God’s provision of mercy for him, by rejecting Christ, and will be cast into the Lake of Fire to consciously suffer for all of eternity. (2 Corinthians 5:8; Romans. 6:8, 9; 8:11; 1 Corinthians 3:12-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10; 1 Thessalonians 1:8, 9; 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Revelation 20:11-15).
13. Evangelism
We believe that the call to evangelize the lost, and their subsequent discipleship, is to be entered into by all believers. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15; 1 Peter 3:15).
